GROUP FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
180 SPORTS AND FITNESS features five of the Les Mills branded programs to ensure effective training opportunities for men and women of all fitness levels. We pride ourselves on our quality, variety, and consistency of instruction given by our team of instructors. We encourage a cross training approach to fitness with our schedule of classes. 180 Sports and Fitness is also an Official Spinning facility which offers regional certifications and continuing education for instructors. we recognize the need for user friendly as well as cj]hallenging classes and encourage participation from all members. Periodic incentive programs assist in motivation and retention. We anxiously await your participation with us!
NEW - BELLY DANCING (60 min)
Get fit and feel fabulous with the ancient art of belly dancing! It's a total workout for the body, mind and spirit while paying special attention to the core. A thorough non-impact, fat-burning workout, it's sure to tone, sculpt and promote a positive mental attitude. Hip scarves provided.
BODY ATTACK (60 min) / BODY ATTACK EXPRESS (45 min)
A high energy , calorie consuming athletic workout that will push you past the limit with strong, simple moves and pumping music. this is the most intense workout you'll find in the world of fitness- a session guaranteed to take no prisoners. (ALL LEVELS) Supportive shoe recommended for lateral movement.
BODY COMBAT (60 min)
Body Combat combines moves and stances developed from a range of self-defense disciplines such as karate, boxing, Tai Chi, and kick boxing. it is a fiercely energetic experience taught in a safe and simplistic manner. designed to fight fat and kick calories. it is a great cardiovascular workout thats all out fun. (ALL LEVELS) Smooth sole shoe recommended. Wraps or gloves optional.
BODY PUMP (60 min) / BODY PUMP EXPRESS (30min)
A rapid fat -burning class that uses barbells to give you the fastest way to tone and condition muscles! After an exhaustive study, BODY PUMP was verified by The University of Auckland as providing the fastest body fat loss of any fitness class. (ALL LEVELS) Workout gloves optional.
BODY STEP (60 min)
Body Step is the ultimate way to give your body a high energy cardioblast and tone the hips and thighs. with over 2,000 steps per session you'll see results in record time. get in step with one of the best fitness classes the world has to offer. (ALL LEVELS)
BODY JAM (60 min) / BODY JAM EXPRESS (45 min) / BODY JAM BASIC (30 min)
Some of the world's top dance choreographers update BODYJAM every three months to guarantee a funky blend of cardiovascular fitness and urban culture. A great way to get the maximum fun out your workout , as you move into shape to the sounds of modern dance music.
FREE STYLE STEP (60 min)
This step class uses more intricate choreography and is suited to the experienced step participant. Movement on and around the step requires familiarity with the space to ensure safety. "Steppers" love this one! (INTERMEDIATE -ADVANCED *see description)
HARD CORE (30 min)
30 minutes of focused core training which will enhance abdominal and back strength and enhance the ability to generate power and balnace in all activities. (ALL LEVELS)
PILATES (60 min)
A basic of all other classes in that it teaches how to maintain the alignment of neutral spine thus improving posture and movement for an overall healthier frame. It will increase body awareness which will enable the participant to be more effective with all forms of exercise. (ALL LEVELS) Yoga mats furnished, but you may want to bring your own.
SPINNING ( 45 min)
The original MAD DOGG indoor cycling program which uses resistance and cadence to stmulate a heart rate response which will produce a desired training effect. This class will increase your knowledge of cardiovascular conditioning and is a perfect introduction to fitness. It is also suited to the elite cyclist who wishes to enhance performance on the bike. (ALL LEVELS)
Bring water and workout towel to class. Cycling shoes optional (SPD clip).
WATER WAVE 1 & 2
A vertical exercise program in the water that meets cardiovascular and musculoskeletal needs regardless of age, skill, or fitness level. The water provides stabilization and support while adding resistanceto enhance strength, balance and cardiovascular endurance. This class is suited to the non-swimmer. (ALL LEVELS) Equipment provided.
YOGA
A workout designed to benefit the body and mind through muscular balance and strength, skeletal alignment, increased range of motion and improved coordination. The practice also develops deep breathing technique which benefits all forms of exercise and essential well-being of the body. (ALL LEVELS) Yoga mats, blocks, and straps are furnished. You may want bring your own.
