SOCCER RULES AND REGULATIONS:

League fees:

  • * Team fee for league play: $650 a team

* Team fee must be paid in full by first game or a team may not play.

* A team deposit of $100 must be paid to reserve a spot for league play.

* Leagues will last for 8 weeks and a champion will be determined.

Game time and length:

  • Two 25 minute halves, a 2 minute half time.
  • No tie breakers, unless a playoff game or final game.
  • Referees will start games ON TIME, not a minute over.
  • A team will forfeit the game if they don’t have a minimum of 5 players from their own team. If a team picks up players then that team will have to forfeit that game.

*Good sportsmanship must be dislpayed AT ALL TIMES.

 

Ball sizes:

Kids use:

size 5 ball: ages U13

 Adults use:

size 4 ball: ages U10

U12 use:

*size 3 ball: ages U5

 U8 use:

All game balls will be provided by 180 Sports and Fitness, we will use the same ball for

all the league games.

 

Game clock: *The game clock will only be stopped by the referee

*The clock will only be stopped for injuries, and if a game is close in the last 2 minutes.

*The clock will start when the game is suppose to start if your team isn’t ready then we’ll

not wait for your team to get ready please be ready when your game is next.

 

Attire: Proper attire is required, to play soccer at 180 Sports and Fitness:

  • T-shirts must be worn at all times, as well as shorts, and socks..
  • Indoor shoes flats or indoor turf shoes will also be allowed.
  • Shin guards MUST be worn for all games, if not worn you will NOT play.

 

Absolutely NOT allowed at 180 Sports and Fitness:

  • Cleats or muddy shoes
  • Persistent fouls
  • Foul or abusive language
  • Intentional handballs
  • Slide Tackling
  • Gum chewing on field
  • Dissension towards the Referee *More than 6 players on the field
  • Boarding players
  • Jewelry
  • Fighting
  • Taunting behavior of other players or teams or Referees
  • Spitting

2 Minute penalties:

Blue card:

*A blue card will be given to any player that is breaking any of the rules that have been

set by the soccer league. If you get a blue card that player must leave the field and your

team will play down a player for 2 minutes. If a keeper gets a 2 minute penalty someone

else must step into the goal for them.

Red Card:

*If a player gets a red card that player must leave the game and may not return to play the

rest of the game. Also the team will have to play a player down for the rest of the game.

Also coaches can get red cards if they are getting out of line or for dissension towards the

referee. If a coach gets a red card they will have to leave the player's box and watch from

the stands. If you get 2 blue cards in a game the third card will be a red. If you get a red

card as a player you will not be allowed to play your next game due to the red card.

Fighting:

*If a player is involved in a fight that player will first get a red card, they will then be asked to

LEAVE 180 Sports and Fitness immediately. You will miss 1 game due to the fighting, if bad

enough you could get kicked out for the whole season or more. With this you will have to

meet with the league director and the owners to discuss if you should  be allowed back into the league

or 180 Sports and Fitness.

There is absolutely ZERO TOLERANCE for fighting in this league.  NO FIGHTING ALLOWED!

Restarts:

*A player must be 10 feet from the ball. The ball will be placed at spot of the foul. The

ball must be at a stand still to restart the play. You don’t have to wait for the referees

whistle to restart unless the referee has decided that is his call.

Direct Kicks:

*A team can score directly without the ball being touched by another player from their

team. Also the kick may be taken immediately from the spot of the foul and the ball must

be at a complete stand still and not moving. Example for direct kicks.

*Deliberately handling the soccer ball

*Penalty kicks:

*Any foul called by the referee that he feels is dangerous or intentional.

Indirect Kicks:

*Another player must touch the ball before you can score on goal.

 Examples of indirect kicks:

  • Start a half *3 line rule
  • Kick off following a goal *offensive foul
  • When ball hits net or out of bounds *delay of game
  • When injury occurs *on substitutions
  • Goal kicks
  • corner kicks
  • double touch

Penalty Kicks:

If a player is fouled inside the penalty box or a handball has occurred in the penalty box,

or if a player is taken down from behind and was going to goal with just the keeper in

front of him that would be considered a penalty kick. All the players but the shooter and

keeper will be at half line. The ball will be placed at the top of the white line, the keeper

will be on their goal line at the start. When the referee blows the whistle and the player

touches the ball the keeper along with the players at half line can then move from their

lines. The penalty kick taker may shoot the ball or can choose to dribble then shoot.

 

Substitutions:

  • When one player comes from the field of play and another enters the game.
  • Always on the fly
  • Players must be 5 yards from the door before the other player may enter field.
  • Play may be stopped on indirect kicks only if team or coach ask referee for a substitution however only on indirect kicks only not direct.

 

3 Line rule:

*The 3 line rule is if a player is behind their defensive line and they kick the ball in the

air up field and no one from their team touches the ball before it hits the ground or if the

other team doesn’t touch the ball and it crosses the 3 rd white line then that’s a penalty.

The opposing team will then get an indirect kick from the other team's white line in front

of their goal.

 

Referees:

*All referees must be TSSAA certified or greater to referee games.

Ages= U6 to U15

Must be 18 years old or greater to ref

*ages= U16

Adults/ adults only

*Must have 3 different referee jerseys and blue cards and red cards at all times. Black

shorts and black long socks and a whistle is also required.

 

Coaches:

*Max 2 coaches in the team box

  • No fans or parents in boxes unless a coach
  • Players and coaches only in team boxes
  • Coaches are only allowed to talk to the referees or team captains
  • Coaches control your parents and players
  • If a coach gets a red card, they must leave players box

 

Pass Back Rule:

If you pass the ball above your team’s defensive line the keeper may not use their hands

to pick it up they must play with their feet. Only if you are behind the white line near

your goal can a keeper pick up the ball with their hands.

 

No Punts:

Keepers are NOT allowed to punt the ball. However you may drop kick the ball back

into play or throw it back in.

No sliding: All players must stay on their feet, no slide tackling or sliding to play a ball

or to shot a ball if a players slides or leaves their feet they will be called for it.
